Day 1 – The Homestead Resort
On arrival at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA. you’ll be welcomed with a wine and cookie reception. The Reception Room will be held for your group as a social or card room for both nights. This afternoon you can join in a Holiday Decoration Class to make a beautiful holiday centerpiece to take home. You will also enjoy a nice afternoon tea as you get acclimated to the hotel's layout. This evening includes a gourmet dinner with music and dancing.. (D)
Day 2 – The Homestead Resort
After breakfast in the dining room you’ll enjoy a historical tour of this classic resort, they welcomed their first guest 10 years before the American Revolution and the Mineral Baths were a favorite of Thomas Jefferson - you'll be surprised at who else as stayed here.
Today’s activities also include a holiday cookie class; the indoor mineral pool and spa, fitness center, coupons for discounts in the hotel shops, and an afternoon tea; or you may venture on a day trip to historic Lewisburg, WV, a charming town with over 40 shops, galleries, and restaurants. The town trip includes a harpist performing in The Old Stone Church, erected in 1796.
Another gourmet dinner with dancing is included at the resort this evening.. Tonight see the "Holiday Lights & Ice" on the front lawn. It's a winter wonderland with an ice rink and illuminated displays of Candy Cane Lane, Toy Land, Reindeer Lane, a Victorian Village and more. Following this tour you might enjoy roasting marshmallows at the firepit, or a nice hot cocoa in the Great Hall by the fireplace. (B,D)
Day 3 – Charlottesville, Monticello
Enjoy free time and lunch on your own at the resort before check out and departure. Arriving Charlottesville you check into the Marriott Courtyard. You then enjoy a visit to the University of Virginia’s Rotunda where Thomas Jefferson will be meet you. Afterwards, continue to Monticello for a visit of the galleries, gift shop, a candlelight tour of the mansion and a private dinner. You will actually have the opportunity to see parts of Monticello not available to you on previous visits. (B,D)
Day 4 - Departures
Check out and depart for home. (B)
